6.John Hyre is coming in from Ohio. John is a accountant, lawyer, and a real estate investor all rolled into one! He knows the IRS probably better than it knows itself and he will be discussing as many topics as possible during his presentation. Trust me when I tell you that this will not be a boring meeting folks. John brings high energy to his presentations and loves member participation so it should be a dandy of a meeting! Some of the topics he will hit on will be dealer status, asset protection, what entities you should have and not have, and much more. Its a shame that he only has 2 hours to speak.......BUT!!!!
John has decided to stay for a Saturday Workshop on March 20th. The cost is $99.00 and there is limited seating (his request) so for those that do sign up it will be well worth the 99 bucks. If you want to sign up for this workshop please let us know so we can put you on the list of attendees. Payments must be made in full at next month's meeting (the 18th) when John is here speaking. No refunds will be made so make sure you are committed when paying!!

- Dan Dringoli from Puroclean will be on hand to discuss the ins and outs of mold. As investors sometimes we are unsure about mold and how to treat it, how bad is "bad", what can be done to get rid of mold without spending a ton of money, etc. etc. With the latest tools and accessories in the mold industry Dan will not only show us what his company uses in the field to remediate mold but is really looking forward to hearing all your questions. If your not clear on how to handle mold and the ins and outs of this nasty stuff then this is a can't miss meeting! We hope to see you all there!

Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you had a great holiday season and ready to start your real estate investing for 2010 off on the right foot. We are starting the year off on the right foot with all of you BUT...... we need your help to make January's event a special night for all of you. The common theme that we keep hearing is that many folks in our Group are looking for private money to fund our deals. Well..........Our guest speaker for Jan. is Maria Triantos from Security Trust Company out of Illinois and she is going to tell us how we can go get that private money!
She will be discussing how you can invest in real estate using your 401K and how to educate possible private money lenders on how simple this process really is. If you know anyone who has a 401K and wants a better return on their money secured by real estate we highly suggest you bring them to our Jan. meeting. This could be a super way to find yourself ALOT of private money. I know private money works and I know its happening already cause 2 of our students have set their IRA's up and are lending private money and to be honest........Jen and I are quite jealous of their returns :-) We all talk about getting private money. Well.............lets go get some! Bring them to the meeting on Jan. so they can learn how to invest their money and how you can get their money to fund your deals.

- Mike Cox from GSF Mortgage will be on hand to discuss the world of financing. With many changes in the financing industry Mike will be discussing investor financing, owner occupant financing, the affects of the tax credit, recent PMI changes, and much more. Mike is hoping that you all come with as many questions as possible to make this a great meeting. Financing is a huge part of buying and selling properties so this should be a super meeting!

New date for the month of September! This month's meeting will be held on the 4th Thursday in Sept due to scheduling conflicts.
Networking 101- This should be a fantastic meeting for all of us to network with eachother. The format will be our standard meeting except for our guest speaker we are going to turn the microphone to all of you! Want to talk about short sales? Great. Want to talk about landlording? Great. We can talk about flipping, wholesaling, sherffis sales, or whatever the topic might be. This will be a very informal meeting. Bring all your questions and answers to this meeting. We want to give all of you a chance to talk to our Group about what it is that your seeing, hearing, learning, what's working, etc. This should be a great meeting and the floor is all yours!

- NATIONAL SPEAKER ALERT!
Steve Cook will be visiting us from Baraboo, WI. Steve just recently moved to Wisconsin from Baltimore, Maryland. Steve Cook has been investing in real estate for over 10 years and is the real deal. With over 450 transactions, loaning hard money, wholesaling, rehabbing, mentoring new investors, doing business in bad and good markets, Steve has seen it all. Now.....all that experience comes to Appleton where Steve will be on hand to talk about wholesaling and rehabbing. He has made it clear that he wants all of us to come armed with questions so we can maximize his visit. Jen and I are extremely excited for his visit. This is absolutely a meeting you do not want to miss folks and going to be a real treat for those that attend.

- "Rental Properties 101" We will be having a panel of landlords who have offered to discuss their business, the rental market, screening tenants, tenant laws, and a host of other things. We have many landlords in our Group and we have not had a guest speaker talk specifically about land lording. This should be a super meeting for us to ask them our questions and get the straight scoop on what they are doing right here in the Valley for their rental businesses. Be armed with your questions and let's grill em'!

- "Open Mic Meeting" For our guest speaker this month we invite.........YOU! When the Fox Valley Real Estate Group formed 2 years ago it was all about getting together with like minded folks to exchange thoughts and ideas about investing in real estate. For June's meeting were having an "open mic" meeting. We will be going around the room and talking about whatever subject it is that you want to discuss. Ask questions about short sales, wholesaling, rehabbing, lease-options, etc. and let the other members and guests give you their respective thoughts and opinions of what is working right here in The Fox Valley. This will be a super way to share ideas that work and don't work, get different opinions, and see who is doing what kinda real estate investing. Think of it as a huge networking/brainstorming meeting. We want to give this format a chance to see how it goes with all of you. We look forward to a super meeting!
